Q. WHAT ARE THE SERVICES AVAILABLE TO FARMERS?

Ans. The service of the JASLC are:

            • Commercial contracts.
            • Conveyance.
            • Real property.
            • Preparation and drafting of legal documents.
            • Administration of Estates.
            • Intestacy/Testacy Law.

Q. WHICH ORGANIZATION PROVIDES THIS SERVICE?

Ans. The Jamaica Agricultural Society along with the various members of the Council.

Q. IS THERE A COST FOR THIS SERVICE?

Ans. Yes. The cost to the farmers is at a minimum.

Q. HOW CAN I ACCESS THIS SERVICE?

Ans. The Legal Council Service will be available island wide to the members of the JAS.

There are days scheduled in the various parish offices where the Legal Officer of the JAS will visit these parish offices to provide farmers with the requisite assistance.

Q. WHAT IS THE TRACTOR/TILLAGE SERVICE?

Ans. The Tractor/Tillage service is project formulated by the Jamaica Agricultural Society in association with the Development Bank of Jamaica (DBJ) and Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA) to provide farmers in Jamaica with a reliable Tractor/Tillage service to assist in the ploughing of the various farmlands across the island.

Q. WHICH ORGANIZATION PROVIDES THIS SERVICE?

Ans. The Jamaica Agricultural Society in association with the Development Bank of Jamaica (DBJ) and in collaboration with Rural Agricultural Development Authority (RADA).

Q. WHO CAN USE THE SERVICE PROVIDED THROUGH THIS PROGRAMME?

Ans. All farmers in Jamaica who have need for the service.

Q. IS THERE A COST FOR THIS SERVICE?

Ans. yes

Q. IF I AM A JAS FULLY PAID UP MEMBER, WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS TO ME?

Ans. The Tractors/Tillage service will be offered to you at a reduced price, that is, discounted.

N.B. Discount may be applicable based on amount of acres to be ploughed. Rates are subject to change without notice

Q. WHAT IF I AM NOT A MEMBER OF THE JAS?

Ans. The Tractor/Tillage service will be available at the existing market rate in the respective parishes.

Q. HOW DO I BECOME A MEMBER OF THE JAS?

Ans. The procedure is simple, just submit completed membership application form available at any JAS branches across the island and the requisite membership fee to the branches.

Direct Member - $1,500.00
Affiliate Organisation - $10,000.00 Per Annum
